Nissebanden i Grønland was 1989's popular addition to the Danish tradition of televised Christmas calendars - a story of Christmas in 24 episodes, from the 1st to the 24th of December. At their traditional December 1st party, a group of special agent Christmas elves are sent for by Santa Claus himself. They travel to Greenland to help secure the production and delivery of the Christmas presents while Santa leaves to find two meteor stones which, according to legend, are magic wish stones with dark powers. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of a small Danish community are planning a shrewd move to make Santa come and live in their town!
