Gary with sister and very young brother, set off to a hospital ward with a Christmas tree. A long but eventful journey takes them on various forms of transport, and a lot of walking, it leads them through many incidents, and involves many interesting and entertaining people. Meanwhile, parents and police trying to track down the children and a Christmas tree.
