La película retrata los últimos años de la vida de José María Morelos y Pavón (1812-1815), héroe mexicano quien tras burlar el cerco de sus enemigos, toma una de las ciudades más importantes de México. Sin embargo, teniendo más de la mitad del territorio mexicano en sus manos, Morelos cae en una contradicción y se empeña en tomar el puerto de Acapulco mientras las tropas realistas se reorganizan, se fortalecen y poco a poco van recuperando terreno. The movie portraits the last years in the life of José María Morelos y Pavón (1812-1815), Mexican heroe, who after escaping the siege of his enemies takes one of the most important cities of Mexico. However, having more than half of the Mexican territory in his hands, he insists on taking over the Acapulcos harbor while the royal troops rearrange themselves, grow stronger and slowly gain get territory back.
